Plaid’s origins lie with higher education and one of our main focuses is to serve institutions of higher education by supporting their efforts in education and knowledge creation. We recognize that each institution has its unique characteristics, values, and culture that shape the campus experience. A defining aspect of our work in higher education is our team of professionals, who work to build collaborative relationships with our campus partners so we are able to develop strategies and initiatives that align with the nature, values, and priorities of each college or university.

How We Help Higher Education
Sometimes it can be hard to get a full view of an environment without an outside perspective. Plaid provides campus and community assessment services to help gain full insight into the culture, trends, and priorities of various stakeholder groups. Campus and community assessments often involve collecting, analyzing, and reporting data about a specific topic or focus area to allow campus leadership to make a fully informed decision or strategy.
Whatever being better looks like for each campus or department, it starts with a roadmap that has a clear vision and path toward the future. Plaid’s team of consultants collaborates with campuses to facilitate data-informed strategic planning processes to create a plan that represents the goals, priorities, and needs of the many stakeholder groups that make a campus a community.
Going after big goals and achieving a mission requires a collaborative team working in sync. Plaid provides a number of facilitated staff and group development experiences to help leaders and group members effectively work together. Our staff and group development experiences aim to help learners develop personal awareness of their interests, strengths, motivations, and needs while also understanding how to engage in productive relationships with others.
Like colleges and universities, Plaid believes engaging learning experiences are key to any pursuit of being better. We provide a number of signature online learning programs ranging in topics from student safety to inclusive practices and board leadership. Our team of expert instructional designers and educational consultants can also design and develop custom online learning experiences for colleges and university settings. We also own and operate a learning management system, PlaidLMS, that can be the home to your online learning experiences.

Kenyon College
During the Pandemic, senior leadership at Kenyon College turned to Plaid to support their staff during a time of immense change. Kenyon team members were in a constant state of problem-solving as they adapted to changing regulations associated with keeping students healthy on campus. Recognizing the strain being placed on team members, Kenyon dedicated time and resources to supporting their staff’s mental health and team cohesion by offering a series of professional development programs.
