Plaid has been providing collaborative service to the fraternal industry since its founding. The Plaid team collectively has decades of experience in the fraternal industry with many of our team members being members of fraternal organizations themselves. Our services are designed to help the fraternal industry be better so each individual can continue to elevate, contribute to, and lead their organization with purpose.
Signature Programs for Fraternal
Plaid is proud to own and operate four signature educational programs. These online learning experiences were designed with the fraternal client in mind and developed by content area experts and industry-leading instructional designers. Each of our signature programs is designed with the end-user in mind to meet the needs and interests of the learner audience.
Tightrope and Highwire
Tightrope is an online student safety program designed to help college students develop the knowledge and skills they need to make empowered decisions to have a meaningful and safe campus experience. Tightrope involves five course modules that cover topics such as alcohol and other drugs, hazing, healthy relationships, mental health, and how to be a safe student.
Chapter Advisor Training
The Chapter Advisor Training program is an online program to assist advisors in supporting fraternity and sorority chapters. This program provides engaging content related to the role of an advisor, college students today, and harm reduction.
AboveBoard
Fraternal organizations and their foundations can only operate to their fullest potential if there is effective and aligned leadership being practiced at the board level. AboveBoard is an online board development program designed to help board members practice effective strategic leadership. This program includes courses on governance, strategic planning, and improving board performance.
AboveBoard has two versions: one for professionals, the original Aboveboard, and one for undergraduates, AboveBoard: Student Leader.
Cultural Competency Program
Inclusive Practices Is an online program designed to help college students develop the knowledge and skills they need to create a welcoming environment and promote belongingness while on campus. This program includes courses on understanding identity, historical context, and inclusive practices.

PlaidLMS is also integrated with a number of customer relationship management (CRM) platforms, including OmegaFi and ChapterSpot. If assessment and research are a part of your learning goals, PlaidLMS is integrated with Qualtrics to assist with data collection.

Plaid has been conducting research for the fraternal industry since its founding. We assist fraternal partners and campuses in collecting and/or drawing insights from their data to make informed decisions about operations and programming to fulfill their organization’s mission, vision, and goals of their strategic plan.
Many of the Plaid team members previously worked for headquarters staff or in a campus-based role and are aware of the unique day-to-day undertakings of professionals who support fraternal organizations. Plaid provides engaging and insightful training experiences delivered through in-person, online, or hybrid facilitation to help onboard new employees, foster team dynamics, or navigate organizational changes. Our staff training is tailored to meet the needs and interests of each organization we work with.
We know that personal development plays an essential role in the fraternal industry. From undergraduates to alumni, fraternal organizations strive to provide lifelong personal development opportunities. Plaid partners with Birkman to provide the most comprehensive personal development tool to our clients. Plaid utilizes the Birkman to facilitate conversations on how individuals can better understand their needs, interests, and stress behaviors while also understanding those characteristics in others. In addition, Plaid offers custom workshops and programs over a variety of personal development topics that can be customized to meet the learning outcomes of our clients.
We know there are many internal and external factors that impact a chapter’s health and development. Plaid offers programs that focus on improving the culture within a chapter community and aids in developing and elevating the organization. These programs provide fraternal based organizations the opportunity to overcome group dysfunction and negative behavior while going through a culture shifting curriculum.
Creating a strategic plan is no easy feat. Plaid can assist in creating, monitoring, marketing a strategic plan. We help to facilitate a strategic planning process tailored to the mission and vision of each fraternal organization in order to set goals, determine actions to achieve the goals, and mobilize resources to execute the actions. Plaid provides clear timelines and expectations to ensure a strategic plan is ready for timely implementation. Our strategic planning process is data-informed and aims to generate a comprehensive plan to market a new strategic plan to generate excitement and buy-in from internal and external constituents.
